Providence orders Sportsman’s Inn to close for 10 days. City license regulators have ordered a 10-day shutdown of the Sportsman’s Inn for failing to control its premises the night seven weeks ago that a patron shot and wounded three people.

Did Downtown Providence’s boom go bust? The construction cranes that towered over downtown for years are gone. There are empty lots where buildings once stood. Plans for boutique hotels and office towers have evaporated.
