For those of you who remember (and miss) Kozmo.com, there's a new-ish service in Atlanta called Zifty. They deliver the same kinds of goods as Kozmo: DVDs, video games, food drinks, personal items. They also do restaurant delivery from restaurants like Nickiemoto's and Fuego. Currently, they only deliver to these Zip Codes: 30303, 30305, 30306, 30307, 30308, 30309, 30312, 30313, 30314, 30316, 30317, 30318, 30322, 30324, 30329, and 30332. I hear they're expanding as well. I hope they expand all the way to NC... I really miss Kozmo.

Sorry, ironchpaman. More Atlanta OT: If you like sweatshop free apparel, American Apparel is opening in Atlanta. The location will be on Spring St. There's one opening in Charleston, too. The only other SE location is Miami.

My lazy wife & I have been using Zifty for most of this year, and maybe even some of last year - I forget.  It's great on the weekends when we're feeling lazy & just want to veg out all day - did that yesterday, I got a chimi from Acupolco Cafe (?) & my wife got some grocery items.

Don't worry, I probably would use it anyways.
I live just a few miles (6, I believe) from Arbor Place Mall, a Sam's Club, Walmart, Target, Circuit City, Best Buy, and several other stores like that, so it's easier for me just to use them.

Here's an interesting article about how old spaces can be made new.

The old Suntrust bank building on Monroe will go from this:

to this:

I really want to see what it's like to eat pizza in what used to be a bank. How exciting.

The right recipe found for pie-shaped building.

Bon Apetite!

It really does have a unique shape, doesn't it?

A pizza place would be perfect there.

I love the old Suntrust building. That's one of my favorites. I hope Piebar stays around long enough for me to visit. :)

More retail news: I hear West Elm, the Williams-Sonoma furniture store, will be opening soon at Atlantic Station. It will be the first in the SE. Atlanta retail gets better all the time!

You are right...........I heard that also. I love the kitchen and I love cooking with family around. They always have great pieces for cooking. It's always good to have choices. The more different stores that come to Atlanta, the better the prices become. I tell you though, the shopping at Atlantic Station is definitely going towards the trendy. I'm surprised that JCrew isn't opening there....although Banana Republic is.

Well, school starts back over here in Douglas County in about 8 1/2 hours, so I guess I better say good night.

I still think August 1st is too early to begin school (why not at least 1 week later)?

I think it's too early also.

My eldest goes back August 19th.

I know you will have a great year this year. You are such a smart young man with a bright bright future. Go get some rest because tomorrow is the big dayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Have a great Monday!

I noticed that the site's article posting policy has changed several times over the past couple of months, why is that?

The site's policy has not changed, only its presentation has. We are making the "Article Posting Policy" threads uniform accross the board.

What specific page (give me a link to it) are you getting the error(s)?

Actually, I only got that message for about ten minutes. I came back later and it was up and running again.

Just for the record, I had trouble getting to the "Urban Discussion" page...that's the only one I can remember.

It's the same issue that you had to shut the site a few weeks ago for.

Thats pretty funny. :D

Btw has anyone esle seen the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (no its not just for kids)

Anyway, if you haven't you'll be happy to know that one of the obnoxious kids in the story is from your Atlanta, GA and they even show a typical suburban subdivision.  I thought that was kinda funny.

I'd like to see it sometime. Are you saying that one of the characters in the updated version is from Atlanta? That'll be an interesting thing to see.

What'd you think of the movie?
