I was wondering the same thing. It looks like vines that are planted into the balconies to me. There even appears to be a tree on the top.
It is an artists' conceptual rendering after all, so who knows what it will be like in the end.

I think you'll see Greenville continue to surprise with it's architecture. Don't think GV is going to do run of the mill.

As the architect does more work and the potential tenants give input, the design will change. Personally, I think they could do a lot better. The Camperdown building has changed quite a bit since it was initially proposed a couple years back, for example.

No. They will have to construct every thing you see. There are alot of one and two story buildings there. And they should have been gone along time ago.

The Tower at Falls & Broad will be rising soon from the site of Mr. Bill Bouharoun’s 32-year-old family-owned business. The high rise will measure 20 stories, totaling 350 ft. in height, making it Greenville’s tallest building. On the first and second floors, The Tower has space designed for a bank, with a drive through window and ATM availability incorporated into the first level of the project’s 3 story-parking garage. Additionally, the main level contains some retail space. Also, on the second and third floors are office condominiums, ranging in size from 1,050 to 4,150 sq. ft. There is 20,000 sq. ft. of office space on both the fourth and fifth floors available for lease. Each floor six through thirteen contains four office condominiums, ranging in size from 1,750 to 1,800 sq. ft. Four residential condominiums occupy each floor fourteen through eighteen. These residences range from 1,750 to 2,000 sq. ft. and offer spectacular views of Greenville from terraces as large as 650 sq. ft. The nineteenth and twentieth floors are reserved for a 2-story penthouse. Destined to be one of Downtown’s most recognized landmarks, The Tower at Falls & Broad will take property ownership in Greenville to unprecedented heights.
This is great for the city of Greenville B)

Hey we have to take the good with the bad. Wish we didn't have to have that way.

Actually if all this new space creates more supply than demand, lease rates could fall as landlords compete for tennants.
