Hello, I've been a lurker for a few months now and decided to join. I'm a engineer and was transfered here from NY. Our Office is right in the heart of the West End. It used to be an old textile warehouse on the RR tracks. a beautiful building right on main st.

Welcome aboard, lbs5015!  I believe our friend NYTransplant has some photos of your office posted on the forum here somewhere.  I love that old building and the warehouse doors, landscaping along the outside of the building near the tracks.  It's got TONS of character.  :shades:

I've been reading this forum for a while, but never was compelled to join until I saw that some of my Flickr contacts posted here.  I'm a 33yr old guy with a 2 yr old son, married to a fellow Greenville native.  I've lived all around the Upstate (sugar tit, pelham rd, pelzer) and currently live in Mauldin.  I'm an average photographer, doing the best I can with crappy equipment.  I care about the direction my city and county are going in, but really don't fit the mold of average Greenville native.  I hate talking about myself (and yet I have a blog. How ironic is that?) so any questions, feel free to ask me.

After reading your intro, I am curious as to how you characterize the average Greenville native...

Well, not too delve too deeply into it here, I'm not college educated, and there are other ways I'm not in the norm I'd rather not get into on here. :shades:

College:  University of Maryland, College Park (BA), University of Maryland, University College (MS)

Don't worry. PU - I don't think many of us are normal.

Welcome aboard, connysmom!!  There are few places I'd rather live than Greenville, but NoVa is one of them, if it weren't so darned expensive up there.  I think you and your husband and kids made a wise choice in coming here.

Hello to all, I've been looking for a forum for Greenville for a few months glad I finally found it. Currently living in St.Louis, MO. home of the World Champ Cardinals, my family and I will be relocating to Greenville soon, her family live in Greenville and Mauldin so I am quite familiar with the area. So hopefully in the next month or so(once our home sells or I find employment) we will be making Greenville our new home. So just saying hi and look forward to some interesting chats.
