The Oasis, the popular Austin area restaurant on the cliifs overlooking Lake Travis, burned down early Wednesday morning. It has been called one of the top tourist attractions in the Austin area. This is a description of the Oasis from the Austin Business Journal.

Quote

Operating with the tag line "The place is The Oasis -- Sunset Capital of Texas," the more than 20-year-old restaurant has garnered popularity with diners for its breathtaking views of Lake Travis. It has more than 40 decks overlooking the lake and can seat more than 2,000 people.
The fire was caused by a lightning strike to one of the lower decks. The owner plans to rebuild.
