Is it me, or is the word "square" a lot more dignified than the word "plaza"?  How about making this "Kennedy Square", for starters?
I don't see either word as being any more dignified than the other: Times Square, DePasquale Plaza . . .  :dontknow:

But the Plaza Hotel in NYC is pretty dignified. :P

Hmm, when I think of "plaza", I think of things like that ugly chapel view thing next to garden city.  And I think of garden city.  When I think of a "square", I think of Copley or Louisburg.

Evening Basketball Comes to Kennedy Plaza

Mayor David N. Cicilline announced today that basketball teams from throughout the state will converge on downtown Providence this summer as part of an ongoing effort to transform the Kennedy Plaza area.

Solar powered compacting trash cans have been deployed in Burnside Park, there's two or three of them. I wish they'd yank out the oil drum barrels that are littered about the area (haha, a trash can is littered).

Don't think there is a dedicated thread for Burnside Park, so I'll post this here:

I was just thinking while walking by recently that there's a lot more going on in that park than there used to be.
