Um, Buffalo's not Southern. Not to mention, that's an awful pessimistic view for your future. You could win the lottery or have a very rich uncle you're not aware of....

Maybe he means Buffalo, Kentucky  :dontknow:

I couldn't vote for any of the choices-sorry.   Like Shreveport-Bossier best of all, and I have lived other places.  If not here, Galveston or Florida panhandle.

Well I just saw Mobile up there, so I voted for it.  Pretty place and like Baldwin county.

Though it's a long ways away, I could see myself retiring in either Charleston, Richmond, D.C. or Baltimore.

As it stands now, I had to vote for Charleston.

I want to know who voted for Atlanta.  :D
I did,
the only metro outside of DC or Miami that I would ever consider living (or retiring in), if I can ever get out of the crappy Carolinas!

The Carolinas offer almsot any lifestyle you could possibly want. The geographic diversity of these two states, the combined variety of urban offerings, entertainment, arts and culture make it an ideal palce to retire. If I have to move to retire, I would stay in the Carolinas (or come back if I move away). I think that at this point in my life I can't say for sure what I would do. More realisticly I'll probably stay wherever I end up in my career.

Well I probably shouldnt have called them Crappy.  Actually Greenville has REALLY grown on me in the past year or so.  Seems like it does have lots of potential.
