Capital City Bank Group, Inc. Completes Merger With First Alachua Banking Corporation
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. /Capital City Bank Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:CCBG) announced today the completion of its merger with First Alachua Banking Corporation (FABC). The corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary, First National Bank of Alachua (FNBA), is a $231 million financial institution with seven banking offices in Alachua County three in Gainesville with the remaining offices in Alachua, High Springs, Jonesville, Newberry and an eighth office in Hastings, Fla., located in St. Johns County. FABC also has a mortgage lending office in Gainesville and a retail brokerage division.
The completion of the merger will strengthen an already strong footprint of Capital City offices in central Florida. The merger is part of Capital City’s long-term expansion strategy of acquiring banks that are $100 million to $400 million in asset size, located on the outskirts of major metropolitan areas in Florida, Georgia and Alabama.
