Yes, quite a nerve-racking battle that was!! I was literally jumping up and down when VCU knocked down those treys! And the fact that we've beat them at their home court makes it even more exciting! Sadly, afterwards I went to the Robins Center (using Press Pass tickets by RTD) and watched the Spiders get knocked down by George Washington at the last few seconds. It was also at that point that my wife (who stayed at home) texted me saying Whitney Houston had passed away.... talk about adding insult to injury....

And you better believe I watched it, too.... I had came back from a V-day dinner with my wife, and decided that I was going to watch. When that GMU player put down that three at the last 4 seconds, my jaw dropped and literally stayed like that for 5 five straight minutes.... and as I watched the Patriot Center fly into chaotic celebration, I had realized VCU had just been knocked off 1st place in the CAA

Burt, your assumption gladly prove to be true.
The Rams have sold out for the 17th time straight. They are still 1 of only 5 teams to have done that still.

This is quite a crucial game for the Rams, after their last-second (literally) heartbreaker loss to George Mason on Valentine's Day, a loss that sent them out of the number 1 seed of the CAA, keeping in GMU and Drexel. Even though the loss was very important and heartbreaking to Ram Nation, the fact that we are still committed and selling out routinely at the Stu shows how fantastic we are.
Also, the article from VCUAthletics above is pretty interesting. Both have connections to the Kansas Jayhawks, because in the two consecutive NCAA tourneys, 2010 and 2011, both UNI and VCU have sent KU home early, and both won ESPYs for? You guessed it: Best Upset.

Now this is an embarrassing question and reveals how little I know about basketball. Who is Charlotte? In John O'Connor's coverage the full name of the school is never mentioned -- not even once. Is there a Univeristy of Charlotte? Could it be one of the several Universities of North Carolina at (city name) or some other school in The Queen City? Maybe The Bobcats were in for a little off-schedule sport?
It seems a bit disrespectful to omit the team's full identity.

It's University of North Carolina at Charlotte. They made the final four in '77 and have made the NCAA tournament about every other year from 1988-2005. The 49ers were in Conference USA before joining the A-10 in 2005.

It will be the 18th consecutive sell-out at VCU's Siegel Center.
ESPN2 will air the game, so if you can't be there in person watch it at 6PM tonight.

You bet I'm going to watch it!
Being a HUGE supporter of the Rams, I am SO happy for their successes following their famous Final Four run. The fact that they are STILL selling out is a MAJOR win for ticket sellers, and it shows a sense of pride that the region has for it's collegiate athletics. Also, I think this is the second national TV broadcast on ESPN2 after the BracketBusters game against Northern Iowa (which we won of course
Here's to a great and successful VCU Rams season.

NOW, here's to a great and succesful VCU Rams season.
And directly after the good Rams' win, now the nation watches Xavier go at it with the Richmond Spiders at Xavier's home court. The nation's college b-ball fans' eyes are on RVA tonight, folks.

SportsQuest has been evicted from their basketball courts and gym facility. Signs are being torn down and membership phone lines are down. What could this mean for SQ?
