Introduce Yourself

I moved my family from the Atlanta area to Bentonville in the summer of 2002 after accepting a job here. On President's Day of this year we moved our business (retail, on-line and 800 number gift sales) from Georgia to Centerton, just west of B'ville.
It's amazing what's going on out here...

Welcome.
It's nice to know that not all new Northwest Arkansas residents come from California or the North. I think you're the first member from Bentonville. It'll be nice to hear from someone from that city, as I'm not as familiar with the area north of Fayetteville.

Welcome to AR (although a little belated)! I'm from the upper right hand corner. I'm sure you will be able to add tons of NWA insight. I need to get up there to see a football game this season. Again... welcome!

Arkansawyer, interestingly, in the place where I used to work here (and still do on a contract basis) there were no less than four other Georgia transplants...three from the Atlanta metro area (one of them was originally from South Africa!) and another one from Brunswick on the coast). Another fellow moved from North Carolina. I've a neighbor a few blocks down who moved from Cartersville, GA NW of Marietta and Atlanta, and another neighbor from Bogart, GA near Athens...the latter family has a replica of UGA, the University of Georgia bulldog, on their lawn garden.
They're starting to migrate from other parts of the southeast here...

Hey Zachariah,
Nice of you to introduce yourself. We welcome anyone into our beautiful state. Little Rock, Northwest Arkansas, and Hotsprings are definitely places you would want to visit. I live in Northwest Arkansas and absolutely love it here. There is a lot happening all throughout our state. Where are you from?

Who is our "guy?"
Anyway, I notice that others have mentioned the mountainous areas of Arkansas, in the northern and western parts of the state. Those are beautiful places, but I also love the Delta in eastern Arkansas. Sure it's the poorest region in America, but it's a wonderful place to visit and relax. For one, it's a truly unique American place; it just oozes Old South culture. There's beauty in the Mississippi River and cotton fields too, and the people are so friendly. Helena, which sits right on the Mighty Mississippi, is probably the best town to visit there.

I knew what you meant, but I didn't read it wrong. "Your" is a possessive adjective, and the object of possession in your post is "guys." I was being somewhat facetious.
I'm glad you enjoy this forum.

Thanks for the compliments.
Our trolley line opened in November 2004, shortly before the opening of the Clinton Library. Currently the track only runs 2.5 miles, but it will soon be extended to the Clinton Library for an estimated $7.6 million. We recently received a $6 million grant from the federal government, so it should be completed soon.
I thought for sure you would have associated Little Rock with being FedEx's birthplace, since y'all took it from us.
By the way, let me compliment Memphis. I can't count how many times I've been there, since I've had family there for so long, and I consider it one of the great American cities.
