Oh my word.........my husband is a Pittsburger and the Steelers are his favorite team. I hear so much about them that I have the Steelers on my brain. I will admit though, sports are not at the top of my interest list.

I used to be worse. I used to ask what inning was the football game in. The looks I used to get. I'm better with that now.

Okay.....oh my gosh.....this should be sooooooooooooooo fun!!!!!!

This is something that you can do every weekend. Riding a segway around the CBD should be an interesting endeavor indeed.

New tours stop traffic downtown.
Segway caravans always a magnet for the curious.

How exciting.....plus you get to work your gluts all at the same time.

This is something that should increase the wow factor and uniqueness of tours downtown.  B)

It varies week to week. Usually they are local groups and the music tends to lean more towards easy listening or jazz. Music for the cocktail crowd I suppose.....minus the cocktails. I have heard of national groups playing there. There are occassions when alternative is played. It's a hit or miss situation as I don't think they have a set program.

If I find or hear anything, I will be sure to post it here.

Just an update..........

The activites for last weekend gave Atlanta a big shot in the arm.

The combined activities going on downtown from August 4th - August 7th has netted Atlanta a whopping $140 million in revenue. Kudoooos!!!

There are several large conventions scheduled for the rest of the year. It looks like the convention industry is starting to turn around.  :silly:

Let's hope that this will lead to further investment in the downtown area to make it more inviting for conventioneers, families, citizens and downtown workers alike. I look forward to the opening of the Georgia Aquarium and the new World of Coca~Cola.

Here's an interesting site I found a couple of days ago. It's an events calendar from Atlanta.net. Quite useful. What you do is you enter the dates you're looking for (let's say September 11th-September 12th) and hit "find events". It will find any events in Metro Atlanta within the dates listed, You could also narrow it down by selecting a category, like "Theater".

I don't know if this qualifies as an "event" in the sense of what is usually posted here, but tonight is an "open mike" night for any and all Atlanta residents who wish to give their opinion on the Atlanta Beltline to the city council. It is set to start at 6pm at Atlanta City Hall. It is set to go until 8 pm, but will probably last longer.
