I amazingly agree with you. The colors within the signage are far too bright in my opinion. Makes it look like the sun is out even when it's completely dark outside. My guess is that they approved it because it complies with the sign ordinance in terms of structure. i.e. hangs over the sidewalk: http://www.greenvill...3-10adopted.pdf

Oh and if you think that sign is bad, just wait until the one for Mac's goes up if it got approved. Should be a hoot.

North Street has some of my favorite older store fronts and historic facades (in addition to North Laurens Street). Here's one, home to the corporate offices of Wireless Communications, at the corner of E. North Street and Brown Street:

I took a picture of this building on Sunday too.  The side entrance, which is not shown is more promenient now, too.  This building stands out much more now.  The view from E. North toward the Piazza Bergamo is looking good as the ONE building rises up.
