Burj Dubai

The burj dubai is going to be the tallest in 2009 but how tall is it going to be? i just cant wait and see! the development all around it is realy nyce too!

Wow, that looks awesome.  The proposed height is something like 2,500ft.

I don't think its going to be as tall as some people are saying. Has an official height been released?

Its nice but i would like it a lot more if it was in more of an urban setting.  A lot of Dubais skyscrapers look like things i see in the suburbs in that they are all seperate complexes and dont really interact with each other.

This month's New Yorker has an article about how bizarre the development in Dubai has gotten.  They're even manufacturing sandy beaches by dredging up sand and dropping it in the water to form peninsulas. Here's the online audio version.

Check out this link.  There's a construction pic at the bottom that's about a week old.  Construction on the "core" is up to about the 15th floor.
