So, I'm looking at Live Local, and I can't figure out why they paved this area in front of the building.
I remember when they did it, too.  My GF at the time was living there and was excited that there would be a few more parking spaces  ...but no.  They put a fence around it and a sign that says no parking.
Is it a fire line?  Where they going to put in basketball nets?  What's the story?

Just because it's unused doesn't mean it has to be paved!

I know! They could have just left the Silvertop there.

Owners taking offers for The 903 [Providence Business News]

Seems some Irish investors need something to spend their, insanely strong against the dollar, euros on. Should we should tell them what crap the903 is?

God how I miss the Silvertop! *sob*sob*sob*

If they had asked me to design the 903 I would have said they should have incorporated the look of the Farmer's Market and kept the Silvertop. But nobody asked.

The 233 unsold residences, about 70 percent of which are rented, are scheduled to be put up for bid in a mortgagee sale Dec. 17.

Somehow in Rhode Island the end all became condo construction rather than rental apartment living. New construction in mid sizes cities such as Hartford, Norfolk and Virginia Beach had private development such as the 903, Weston, etc. These investments were constructed without consideration as condo's just as the 903 was originally. The Cove also should have been constructed just as apartments, as originally intended, rather than change their format to condo's. I hope Paolino takes a loss because his lack of insight and ownership, other than moving the rivers, has affected down city in numerous ways. Downtown condo's are a detriment to that young professional that chooses to live in the down city urban environment and does not have that necessary down payment for purchase. The Foundry seems to have a high rate of occupancy with little, if any, down city competition
