09/27/05, the japanese agency Sanaa (Kazuyo Sejima & Ryue Nishizawa) has been chosen to build the Louvre in Lens (north of France). After a curious battle concerning the three last competitors (122 competitors at the outset) : Rudy Ricciotti was the jury of architects super favorite and Zaha Hadid was the elective representative's arch favorite.

The Louvre Lens will be a building of 20 000 m² in a terrain of 18 ha.
5 500 m² will be destined to the exhibitions, 1 700 m² to the temporary exhibits. The pedagogic activities, an auditorium, a media library, the visitable reserves will occupy the rest of the public space.

Finally Sanaa win with thank to the decisive vote from the president of the Region 'Nord-Pas-de-Calais' Daniel Percheron (the region finance 60 % of a project of 120 millions €).
I haven't found blueprint or any rendering of the Sanaa project. Anyway, the work is said "in progress".
The Sanaa's Louvre is a metaphor of the parisian museum. 9 pavilions of shine glass and aluminum with three levels, surrounded by a natural garden. The roofing is in glass, the central volume of reception is thoroughly transparent.

The new museum will open in spring 2009 and will expose about 600 masterpieces and major works from the Louvre Paris.

I'm glad, it's rather a good choice ! :)
