The people across Central Alabama needs to learn that this region is becoming the most populous in the state.  They also need to realized that Birmingham is fast becoming a typical medium-size big city and that for the region to prosper regional cooperation is the key.

"is becoming the most populous"?  Since Birmingham has long held the largest AL city title, what has changed recently to make your statement valid?
What resident living in Central AL wouldn't already know this and not "need to learn"?

Please enlighten.

Mass transit, highway construction and maintanance, i.e. the lights on the freeways, and duplication of government services around the area.

The people of Birmingham need to get off their tails and support UAB athletics more.  UAB puts a great product on the field and at very reasonable prices, especially with basketball.

If you are a basketball fan then you would love watching "The Fastest 40 minutes" in basketball.  NCAA steals per game leader for three consecutive seasons (NCAA record), 20+ wins per season for three consecutive years, and 3 NCAA tourney wins (#1 Kentucky, #6 LSU, #8 Washington) in past two seasons.

Get out and support the home team!

Nothing like a little support from the community for the University sports.

Your city looked wonderful on the PBA (pro bowlers tour) telecast today. The tournament was actually in Trussville, Titusville something like that? (sorry for the misspelling.) I guess this is a suburb of Birmingham. The skyline shots after commercials were awesome! They had some great shots above the towers. Nice skyline Birmingham!

Awesome... didnt know that was on TV, but yes, it's Trussville (one of Birmingham's fastest growing suburbs just north and east of downtown).

Skinheads USA: Soldiers of the Race War: America Undercover

the bit i saw was a bunch of stupid skinhead punks street picketing in Five Points at night...a lot of people aren't happy to see them, and let them know about it.

Bham Hotel and 3 restaurants earn prestigious award

Well... the new numbers are out and its good news for a few Birmingham hotels and restaurants.

Prior to this year, we had 1 4-diamond restaurant (Bottega) and 1 4-diamond hotel (Wynfrey Hotel) in Birmingham.

Now Birmingham has 4 4-diamond restaurants (Bottega, Cafe Dupont, Highlands Bar and Grill, and Ocean) and 2 4-diamond hotels (Wynfrey Hotel and Ross Bridge Resort).
