Well, I'm a Dawgs fan and I think Jerry Seinfeld said it best.."Newnan."  Well, something like that at least.

I was just in Atlanta last week and was extremely disappointed with the Sports Talk there. There is very little substance and not many stations. We in Raleigh are getting our 3rd sports talk station soon. I love ATL, but sports talk is one of its weaknesses.

He was making a pun out of Seinfeld's "Newman", Jerry's nemesis who he was famous for saying "Hello, Newman" to:

Or, you might have already known this and were just being sarcastic in which case the point of this entire post has just been invalidated. :P

Sorry for the confusion.  Just bitter about the Dawgs loss to Fla. (as usual).  In case yall didn't know, the actor who plays Newman on Seinfeld actually graduated from UGA.

Its become tradition for them to play their worst game of the season in Jacksonville. :(
But UGA can still win the SEC and that would be GREAT.

Figured I'd add this. After an autopsy, doctors have determined that Hawks Center Jason Collier died of an enlarged heart. They say that it was caused by a rythm disturbance.

UGA has a very good drama dept.  What really made the program was the professors.  I'm sure its even better now!

^Thanks! I have an interest in being an actor or screenwriter, but that is for another time. :)

Anybody hear about how the Thrashers beat Tampa, the defending Stanley Cup champions? Good stuff :)

I know this should have been mentioned earlier, but I'd like to say that I loved that game against the Dolphins. It was one of our team's best performances yet. I've heard speculation tha Atlanta could be Super Bowl bound this year or within the next few. Any thoughts?

I really liked the game as well. I like it when they are close enough to keep you interested. I have to keep my Falcons passion secret though.....my husband's affliation with the Steelers keep my secretly mum but at least he looked at it because it came on before the Steelers game.

Did everyone see Dan Marino during halftime..............he is still hot. :shades: I used to watch football just to see Dan Marino, Steve Young or Troy Aikman....unless they were playing the Steelers. That was so many years ago...and waaaaaaaaaaay too girly for the sports thread.

The news itself is a little old, but has anyone here heard about Bobby Cox being voted mamnager of the year? He's the first ever in either league to win the award in two years back-to-back. He's tied with St. Louis' Tony La Russa for the most managerial awards now. He is under contract through next season. He said he has thoughtr from time to time about retiring, but he hasn't made a decision yet.

That's quite a feat.

Lets go Georgia!
I would love to see UGA beat Auburn, it would be that much less competition for LSU in the SEC west title race.

They were actually cheering for Steve Spurrier and his Gamecocks to beat Florida earlier! Now there's a rarity for you!
