Wow, I really like the Terminus Towers and 50 Allen Plaza. Atlanta has some really nice looking towers coming in. Are all of the proposed buildings expected to built or are some of them more unlikely?

Atlanta doesn't get a lot of pie in the sky proposals.  All of these are by experienced developers with a long track record so I would say yeah all of them are expected to be built. Most of them have announced a timetable of starting sometime in 2007 (50 Allen Plaza needs a lead office tenant and the Hilton expects a 2008 start).

That being said, until dirt moves..... who knows.

Louisville, Kentucky's Museum Plaza: It is a 62-story avant-garde structure in the downtown, along the riverfront.

Also see
http://en.wikipedia....ki/Museum_Plaza --

"It is expected that once construction begins in the summer of 2007, there will be 561 full-time workers employed at the construction site for three years; construction is projected to end in 2010. The combined economic impact is $900 million, making it one of Kentucky's largest economic development projects."

Contractors are currently being lined up, and three buildings, which were abandoned, are being gutted so that the facades can be used for an entry path into the building's diagonal elevator.

Wow that is one crazy looking building, but I like it though  .  That is definitely going to bring something to Louisville's skyline.

Something, yes; what, I don't know. I think it is way too busy.

I did extensive walking in the area, visiting museums and shooting photographs the other day. It really won't be that visible from the streetscape of Main Street, since there is a nice collection of 19th century 4-5 story structures to block the view. It would "clean up" the backside of the buildings, which is visible from the interstate viaduct.

if you want more information on The St. John condominium you should visit thier website, it is very user friendly and well thoughtout.

www.thestjohn.com or at www.hines.com

i know a couple people who have bought in there and they are very impressed with both the developer Hines and the design.

i heard they are even hoping to get a leed certification! that would be cool.

also the information above about it being a mixed use building is wrong, it is not going to have any commercial. there (so far) is not mention of a 2nd tower, since they expanded this one to be 51 stories. and there are a total of 300 units!!

i think this is going to be a great addition to Southbank downtown Jacksonville.

Well... I have given up hope on any here in my lifetime.... seems like 12-13 stories is all they are willing to go around here, despite having a city population of 47,000 and a metro population of around 450,000.

One thing that puzzles me.  Down at the BMS (Bristol Motor Speedway), as you know they are building the "super luxury" condos down there.  Two are nearly complete and are about 7 stories high.  They are supposed to build 6 or 7 buildings.  I am wondering- why did they not save the land and simply build ONE 50-60 story building and used the "conserved" land for something else?

Here is their site and I have already contacted them about this:
