It was reported here that this year's Drive attendance is averaging better than last year through the same number of games! While we can't make conclusions about the year's numbers at this point, it's definitely encouraging to have such enthusiastic continued support for our baseball team!

The All Start game in an All Star city seemed to be quite a success! The Greenville News article here is worth a read. People from across the country made the game, and the reviews on Greenville are, as always, great!

The biggest thrill for me was seeing the winning home run in the home run derby land on the roof of the Fieldhouse building. Posted Image

If Greenville wins either today or tomorrow, or if Asheville loses either today or tomorrow, Greenville will win the division and advance to the post season! :)

I kinda hope they clinch tomorrow, on the last game of the season.  The Drive is having a pre-game picnic for us season ticket holders. :)

Too late.  Asheville lost today, which was all Greenville needed to win the division title.  Yay!  :)

Great news!

Additionally, the SAL handed out a bunch of league awards for the 2010 season. The Greenville Drive was a big winner. Here's a link: http://www.ballparkd...year-end-awards

Hey, I went to a fight and a baseball game broke out! :shades:

Here's the Drive/Blue Claws brawl from last night's game (9/14/2010) that is making some national news:  http://www.soxanddaw...-blueclaws.html

Food item and alcoholic beverage selections are slated to be increased. Verizon Power Alley will be located in old Dunkin Donuts picnic shelter. This year's slogan is "Year of the Fan." New restaurants scheduled for the ballpark this season:

Tony C's Italian
Sweet Caroline dessets and ice cream (in old Fenway Market/Salsarita's space)
BBQ resturant (name TBD)

*All info above subject to change.

Chick-Fil-A will be moving to where Textile Grill was last season. Subway will be putting a restaurant stand where Chick-Fil-A was. The BBQ restaurant going in now has a name but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.

All of the new or relocated restaurant stands are now open except for Subway. The franchise agreement is still being worked out with them. Here is a cell phone pic of the new BBQ and italian restaurant stands which are located on the concourse behind section 109.

Just in case you missed it:

Tuesday's attendance of 7,125 was the 2nd largest crowd EVER at Fluor Field. Four fans shy of the largest crowd of 7,129 (May 31, 2009 - Drive vs. RiverDogs; John Smoltz rehab start for Greenville). Last year's Reedy River Rivalry drew 7,104 fans.
