There's a very narrow rectangle of land behind the building in dtown's avatar and in front of the parking structure.  Are there any plans for this.  I know a new building has gone up in that corner that is non existent in the aerial photo, so now all that's left is this small plot of land.  I was wondering what might go up on that.

EDIT: heh, guess I didn't have to say all of that.  I have a picture:

i remember reading somewhere that there was supposed to be several  phases to that development, Radio Center which is what thoose first 2 buildings are(phases 1 and 2)

but i dont know what they could put there because its such a small space surrounded by the parking deck and the 2 radio center buildings

The parking deck behind those two buildings was also part of radio center.  Also, last night the TC city commision approved the W. Front St. proposal, i.e. a parking deck and the 8 story building, which I can not find the pictures of.  They did show it on our local news last night, it looks like it will a nice addition.

Ahh lovely 37 degree day today.  Almost sunny too, so what the heck, went downtown, took my dog for a walk and took some pictures.

Posted Image
Radio Centre, the Park Place and the Bank One building from the riverwalk.

Posted Image
Can never remember the name of this place.  I remember when they built it five or six years ago.  Quite a bit of controversy over this one.

Posted Image
Bank One from the top of the parking deck, my dog loved it up there, no cars, I just let his lease out and he had a blast, didn't like the elevator though.

Posted Image
Looking west from the deck.

Took some more but my wireless connection is being a POS   today, try to get those up sometime.

There was a lot of closings down here in metro-Detroit too.  I have this week of for mid-winter break but even if we did have school this week I'm sure it would of been called off today.

LOL, when you get to college Zach, you can make your own snowdays, and not get penalized for it!

It snowed in Cadillac and Manistee, but in TC here we only got about half an inch.  They were calling for freezing rain, but it never happened.

Actually because of the bays, were pretty insulated from the snow, not that we don't get a ton (98 in. so far this year).

Like I said, here in Traverse City, we've had 98 inches.  30 east of here though in places like Kalkaska and Cadillac, their totals are more like 175 inches.  All I know for sure is that I'm glad spring is coming. :D  Oh and also back a couple of posts, I don't have any shots of Harbour View yet, but I keep meaning to go over there.  And now going back even farther, the fenced off area is just a big hole.  Around the same time that Radio Centre was being proposed, another developer was proposing another four story building for that spot.  It used to be a tire dealership and during excavation there was a lot of contamination.  The developer stopped the project and its been sitting there ever since.  Kind of a waste of space.  Some people want to develop it but others want to turn it into a park.  Don't know where I stand on that issue, the area where they demolished the power plant is all parkland now along with the whole waterfront area from about 3 miles north of the city limits to the Holiday Inn.

Hey, here is the rest of the pics I took a couple of days ago, sorry about any doubles.  I've lost track, how the hell do you guys keep up with what you've put up and not.

Posted Image
Again, can't remember the name of this place.

Posted Image
From the deck looking towards Riverview.

Posted Image
Same as the one at the top.

Posted Image
I think I may have posted this already. Anyway.

Posted Image
Ok, go back to the top of this post and your looking at the front of that building.

Posted Image
Riverview Terrace from the river.

Posted Image
This used to be the County courthouse, now it's just a law office.  Why have I been here before? :whistling:

Posted Image
A senior apartment building.

Posted Image
Riverview Terrace again.  As you can see I really am in the river, or on the river I guess.

Posted Image
Part of riverview.

Posted Image
The front of Riverview Terrace with the new skywalk, our first in Traverse City, ooooohh.

Posted Image
Haggerty Insurance building.  It's what's connected by the skywalk.

Dtown, going back a couple of posts to the snow thing.  I found these pictures I took on November 15 and 16.  It's pretty funny.

Posted Image
This is on the 15th.  I hadn't snowed at all yet this year and then just about 10 short hours later it looked like this.

Posted Image

Pretty messed up how the snow comes around here.

Just for kicks and giggles heres a pic of my dog and looking down towards East Bay from Elmbrook golf course, of course in the middle of summer, I can't wait.

TC really is a nice little burg, and it's growing quite nicely,  I think they should extend the 131 north, and give some kind of loop extension over to Traverse city, That could really help the growth and economy up there, if they made it more accessible.

They've been trying ever since I moved up here back in 1991 and probebly before that.  We're a backward people up here, most people aren't receptive to change of any kind.  Although in the past 10 or 15 years there has been a lot of it.  But it always takes years for a project to be proposed and finished, if it even gets that far.

I would think, that because it's one of the fastest growing places in the state of Michigan that the change might come sooner than one might think.

I can't believe this still hasn't been done.  It such a pain in the ass getting there.  I go a couple of times every summer; those two lane roads scare the sh** out of me at night.  Some people are doing 90 and other are going 45.
