It's a second addition to the Value place hotel. It's a 4 story structure nearing completion behind the existing hotel

The land behind/adjacent to is on the market... Could mean more rooms coming soon.

Construction has begun on another hotel in the City of Columbus. Microtel is building another location in Columbus. They opened one up on Williams road last year and now have started construction on a new hotel at the intersection of St. Marys Road and Interstate 185 North.

Another Holiday Inn Express is suppose to begin construction in the first quarter of 2009 on Victory Drive @ the intersection of Ft. Benning Road. Also another Fairfield Inn will be coming into Columbus South on Victory Drive @ the intersection of South Lumpkin Road. Construction should begin within the next 2 months on that project.

Construction continues across the Chattahochee River on a new Hampton Inn at the Intersection of US 431 south and US 280. Also Phenix City is getting another Days Inn which is presently under construction on US Highway 80 near Ladiona Elementry School.

The south Columbus Fairfield Inn is no more instead developers contracted with Candlewood suites and the brand nee 4 story Victory drive hotel is near completion.  The steakhouse that was also in question for that site did not come through. A little further East on Victory drive construction crews on begining work on the 5th floor of a new Holiday Inn Express on the old site of Dennys near Ticknor drive.  Rumors are also circulating that there are plans for at least 4 more new hotels to be built in the city of Columbus.

A bit off topic I think the econolodge on Veterans parkway should add a couple more floors to there. Establishment after all they completely lost their roof in the April 19th tornado so the time is right to build upward.

Does anyone know what the status is on the new Cambria suites to be built near the North Columb us Wynndham? I noticed the sign is still up and has been there for what's approaching a year but no signs of change

That would be a whole lot cooler if it was on the river in "downtown" Phenix City
