OK Ill answer myself.  I drove by again the other day and it is a little further out than I thought it was...more down towards Martinez.  Apparently it is another Raising Canes restaurant.  There is another one opening not too far away on Furys Ferry Road.
Also, there is a sign up now on I-20 for The Village at Riverwatch.  Cant wait for them to start on that.  Right across the highway from that looks to be a new Microtel (hotel) going up.
PJA,  I just noticed you had answered my question on that a few posts back....sorry for that and double posting!!!

The Raising Canes on FF has been open for a couple of months now and has pretty good food.  The only thing is they don't sell chicken wings, just chicken fingers so Zaxby's still has the edge.

A few updates..
Large scale clearing and prep work is being done at the site of The Villages of Riverwatch.  This looks to be a massive project.  There is also some construction on the other side of Riverwatch parkway, anyone know what that is?
Also,  the development on the Riverfront in North Augusta with the huge McMansions, (Not Hammonds Ferry)  is getting some multilevel condos?  They look to be 3-4 floors and are right up along the 13th st. bridge.

Wow so work has finally begun on the Riverwatch project.  I think this is the most anticipated project for Augusta this year.

The Hooters on Washington Rd. will be demolished and
a new Hooters will be built in its place.  This won't happen until after the Masters.

Daniel Field has just received a federal grant to help make more improvements.  Some of those improvements include replacing the security fence around the airport and putting up some security lights on the hangar that will shine out on the ramp.  There has been talk about also putting up some security cameras.  Although Daniel Field shows increased usage during the masters, those visitors using the airport won't see the new security meausres until next year.

A lot of projects are about to get underway thanks to the sales tax money that will start going towards these projects on April 1.  The projects are temporarily placed on hold because of the funds not being available as of yet.  The projects include, the new library, the judicial center, the jail expansion and the new exhibition hall.

Hopefully the Judicial Center will have some height to it.  I know it was originally planned to be a 20 story tower but does anyone know what they are planning for now?
Also,  seems like I read somewhere the new library will be housed in a 100K sq. ft. building.  This is nearly twice the size of Columbia Counties new library and could mean a 5-6 floor building, depending on how much land they use I guess.

Wow, I had no idea they were planning these buildings to be so big.  I guess the demand is here especially for a large library.

The judicial center will unfortunately NOT be the 20 floor originally proposed.  The original proposal several years ago, the first time SPLOST was voted down, was for an $80 million center.  I'll be happy if the new $40 million proposal reaches half that height...  Either way, the original and the scaled down plans are both exciting prospects for Augusta.

There is a new medical project called the Village at Crossroads that will be located on Bel Air Road and Jimmy Dyess Pkwy.  The project is being headed by CPC (the Center for Primary Care).  The area that they are going to buy will be split up into eight lots with seven private doctors buying land and room for CPC crossroads as well.  There may also be a pharmacy available.  The setup of the medical village is designed to be like Charleston with walkways, street lamps and magnolia trees with a small town atmosphere.  The groundbreaking is expected in May with a opening date of December 2006.

There are two new hotels coming to Augusta.  Both are part of the Value Place Hotel chain which is an extended stay hotel. One will be located at Riverwatch and I-20 and the other at Noland Connector Rd. and Gordon Hwy.

SteakOut is returning to Augusta.  One of the old locations on Pleasant Home Rd. will be reopening under new management in June.  Four more are being planned to open in the CSRA over the next three to four years.  Some possible locations include Aiken and North Augusta.

Yeah almost a year ago, both locations abruptly closed with no warning.  There were some signs put up on the doors that they were closed temporarily but then months later they went completely out of business.
