The new Michigan Museum Place design has been announced, for more info see the State News article: http://www.statenews....phtml?pk=33262

Expect more info to come when the developer updates his site.

Here is a larger (low-quality) black & white rendering of the building:

Where'd you get the larger rendering from?  I also wonder which firm drew that drawing up?

I took it out of a pdf on Strathmore Development's site, I think it was just scanned from a newspaper or something.

BTW, I found a temporary photo hosting site, and will post a development update tonight.  I just hate that it was so depressingly cloudy out, but it's that time of year where you may not see the sun directly for days on end.

The designs are up for this project. This is going to change the face of East Lansing sooner than the East Village project. A 10 story building is going up on the corner of Grand River and Albert, which is probably the busiest intersection of EL and main location of EL's bars, clubs, and restarants. The main entrance to MSU's north campus is across the street. This project is spectacular. This area has so much potential to be the main part of EL. Along with the 10 story building another 4 story apartment complex will be on abbot and another 4 story housing will be on G.river. Many townhouse projects will be behind these buildings. Bottom line is this will be a great new, lively, and dense area of EL. Lansing and East Lansing are developing nicely.

the metrolansing forum is great in finding out current information on the various projects in the area.

Update:

This project has since been renamed City Center II, and was recently (and finally) approved:

City Center plans get council OK

The City of East Lansing has update most of the pages for this project on their website.  Go take a look.

Hooray for East Lansing! This sunbelt resident is looking to return to Michigan, and my old haunts seem to be doing very well.

What's up with all the grass?

I guess they felt grass was easier than rendering in some of MSU's buildings accross the street.
