Just to make Aporkalypse happy I'll mention Taco Bueno again.  Went there the other day, it's alright.  I was hoping I'd like it quite a bit better than someplace like Taco Bell.  It's a bit different but not a lot in my opinion. The potato burritos are interesting an different.  But I guess I'm spoiled by Flying Burrito and Qdoba.  They aren't as cheap and not quite so fast food, but I like them better.  I'd just as soon go there and pay more to get something from those two places.  But I have no problem with them putting more Taco Buenos in the area either.

Flying Burrito beats Taco bell or Taco Bueno any day.

I haven't tried Taco Bueno yet, but there suppose to be building one up here in the future.

Like I said it's a little different than Taco Bell but not enough that you should bother driving down here to Fayetteville to try them out.

I heard Kosmos focuses mainly on gyros and a type of kebob that starts with an 's'.  Sorry I can't recall the name now.  It wasn't something I remember hearing before.  I didn't go there, just some more info I picked up.

Some wi-fi news

Three McDonald’s restaurants in Northwest Arkansas have started wireless Internet service for a fee: the stores on Joyce Boulevard in Fayetteville, Hudson Road in Rogers and Arkansas Highway 102 in Bentonville. The charge is $3 for a two-hour connection to the Internet (or $30 a month for an unlimited plan). The Fayetteville location was the first to go wireless, which was around Nov. 1.

McDonald’s has hired Wayport Inc. to help convert hundreds of its restaurants to wireless, including the Northwest Arkansas locations.

Plans are in the way to open two new McDonald’s restaurants: in Centerton on Dec. 13 and Greenland in mid-January.

Don't most places that offer wi-fi in the area do so for free?

Most of the places I can think of in Fayetteville I'm pretty sure do it for free too.  Wonder if having to pay for it at McDonalds will really be much of a draw for them.

They've been doing this for a while in all other parts of Arkansas, and I guess it's pretty successful.

I'd rather go to a coffeshop or bakery and get gourmet food with free wifi.

That's my basic thinking also.

While I was driving around this morning I noticed some changes to some Fayetteville restaurants along College Ave.  The Panda is now China Chan, there's also a sign saying it's under new management.  Not sure what happened there, if the previous owners sold out of just sold the one.  There's also a Panda up in Springdale too.  Goldie's is now going to be Boston Mountain Grille.  I noticed that there was work being done on Goldie's before.  Not sure if it's basically going to be the same restaurant but a different name and an expanded restaurant or if this is going to be totally different.  I have noticed the word mountain is showing up in a lot of names nowadays.  The former Butcher Block is now Sugar Mountain Grill.  Ryan's is now Fire Mountain Grill.  I also thought I'd throw in that I passed a few cajun places.  Cafe Rue Orleans is on College Ave.  I don't know the name but I believe there's also a cajun place not too far away from the Square.  Oddly enough there's also one on Poplar which is a bit of an odd place for a restaurant.  It's called Gypsy Cajun Grill I believe.  I also saw Petra on Center St near the Square.  Looks like it may serve Middle Eastern food.  I took a pic, I'll try to post it later.

Petra sounds interesting, I'll have to try it out sometime.

There's also a Panda up here in Rogers, very good.

Thanks for the updates.

I didn't know there was a Panda up there too.  You'll have to take a look next time you're around it to see if it's changed also.

I actually ate lunch there Friday, and it was still Panda.

Of course, the Panda I'm talking about could be owned by a different company. It's still a good cheap Chinese Buffet.

It's possible but I really thought they were all owned by the same family around here.  Maybe they just sold their Fayetteville location.  Odd, I'm pretty sure it was their first one.  Maybe it wasn't doing very well anymore.

I guess I've never been real big on Chinese food.  I'm picky on my vegetables and they seem to use a lot of the ones I don't care for in Chinese food.   :D

Yeah I know.   :D  That reminds me I forgot to mention I saw another Thai restaurant I had forgotten about.  Racha is over on College too.  I can't name them all but we may have 4-6 of them.
But I'm a lot bigger on Mexican food personally, as you probably already know.  I also like Italian quite a bit although not quite as much as Mexican.  I'd like to find out some more about some of the Greek and Middle Eastern places around here.

Yeah, Cosmos and that Middle Eastern Place interest me.

Racha you say...

I'll have to go down there. Geez I have like 10 restaurants I need to go eat at in Fayetteville.
