Plans are under way to develop apartments and retail at The Melrose shopping center in Berry Hill, according to its city manager and developers.
Roughly 214 apartments are proposed for the old Melrose bowling alley on the south end of the shopping center in two multi-story buildings, said Berry Hill City Manager Joe Baker.
The north end of the shopping center is where the former movie theater was with retail in the middle.
Fulcher Investment Properties and Parkes Development Group LLC., are working together on the project.
New restaurants, retail and about 5,000-square-feet of office space are also planned, said Rhonda Thomas of Parkes Development said.
Zoning and a concept plan have been approved by Berry Hill, Baker said.
A timetable on work starting and finishing wasn’t immediately known, Thomas said.
