When I got the rendering, it was really large, but when I saved it, it became really small:

I'll try to make it larger.

I was unable to make it any larger. If somebody could make it larger and post it, that would be great.

The blue on the bottom is a stormwater pond. The blue on the right is also a stormwater pond, but will have a walkway bridge going over the middle of it, an amphitheater on the western shoreline of the pond with a concert stage and a pavilion, a waterfall on the northern part of the pond, and a fountain on the eastern part of the pond. The blue in the center is a reflecting pool with a fountain in the middle of it. There will be a nature trail going around the outskirts of the eastern and southern parts of the campus and there will be a walkway from the retirement village to the town center on the northern part of the campus. The Clubhouse is the building to the right of the reflecting pool. The commons are to the right of the Clubhouse and other assisted living facilities are north and south of the reflecting pool. There is also going to be a croquet lawn west of the reflecting pool. The other buildings you see are all low-income houses for the elderly. The road at the very bottom, if you can see it is Old Sulphur Springs Road and the road on the far southeastern side is Interstate 85. I think they made a typo. The road on the left says Old Sulphur Springs Road, but I think it's supposed to be Verdae Blvd. I don't know what the road on the far northeastern side is.

Check out their website too:  http://www.banyanseniorliving.com/  They seem to run nice villages. :shades:

G-man, I would suggest you first resize the image and save it on your computer as a 60% quality .jpg, then upload that to photobucket (or whatever site you use).  Photobucket compresses any large files into an obsurdly small image.  PM me if you would rather have me do this.

WSPA had this story today and covered it well.  150 new jobs and $100-million investment is great!

Actually, from the drawing, we can see that there will be future expansion of the retirement community as well, so this could end up being very, very large in the end.

New email I just received:

The full announcement has been delayed but a press release is being considered in the immediate future.  Rick Sumerel our COO is meeting with the developer this afternoon to discuss this.  Everything is on track and be sure we have your contact information and we will have the proper person contact you with what ever details they can give as soon as possible.  Thanks for your continued interest.  John Cothran

Attached is a press release to run in this weekend paper.  It is the first announcement regarding the single family residential section of Verdae.  It will be in the form of a traditional Neighborhood.

Email I received today from John Cothran about the Verdae Development that I also posted in the Magnolia Park Town Center construction thread, seeing how you guys wanted to know if a pedestrian bridge would be built over I-85 for this project:

Mr. Sharp a pedestrian bridge is not planned at this time.  There is an abandoned rail line under I-85 going through Verdae and ICAR what we have been working on having activated in some fashion for transportation between the two and into downtown as well.  There will be signage on I-85 to announce your arrival at Verdae.  There will be a press conference announcing the details of the first TND lot development Thursday July 27.  Thanks for your continued interest in Verdae.  John Cothran

WYFF story about first residential section of Verdae.  I am very happy to see this quote:

Quote

Architecturally, the homes would look have features of homes built in the late 1700s and early 1800s.

Is Verdae only going to be an option for the rich? I really hope they make some affordable housing neighborhoods in there, but somehow I am doubting that.
