I didn't want to say that because I was afraid it would make some think less of the concert.  His style is very "American folk," and he's written some fabulous pieces for a few shows as well.This concert would be well worth the effort to experience! :D

-According to the article the event will draw over 20,000 people here including 1,000 competitors and vendors from all over the country and Canada on the weekend of July 9th. Also, it is expected to generate 4.3 million dollars for the city of Greenville.

This is a little bit different happening, but something worth mentioning. The Upstate Hash House Harriers will be holding a Cinco de Mayo run on well, um, May 5. Starts at 6 p.m. behind Don Pablo's.

For anybody interested, there's a half-day symposium coming up on June 1st at Furman about turning the process of turning the Reedy River into a Greenway Park System.

FROM FLOODPLAINS TO GREENWAYS:  A half-day symposium on creating parks along river corridors.

Sponsored by the Saluda-Reedy Watershed Consortium, Upstate Forever, Conestee Foundation, Friends of the Reedy River, City of Greenville, City of Travelers Rest, Greenville County Recreation District, Greenville County, and Furman University

Tonight is the night!  Hope at least a few UP members can make it out to see an Alfred Hitchcock mystery movie at the Peace Center Amphitheater along the Reedy River in downtown Greenville at 8:00pm. :shades:
