Its most definitely the Grizzlies for me.  Excitement overcomes you as soon as you enter the Forum!  Those of you who've been to a game no what I'm talking about!  Even though I LOVED going to games at the Pyramid, FedEx Forum is by far one of the best arenas that I've ever been to!  The United Center in Chicago is my second favorite (maybe until I get a chance to go to Madison Square Garden).

I voted Other.  My favorite Tennessee sports team is the Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders football team.  Go Blue!

My favorites are the Grizzlies, U of M, then the redbirds.  I wish the Grizz could win a playoff game, because now they have the most consecutive losses in playoffs, which is 12.  The U of M basketball and football teams have been doing very well in the past season, and the Redbirds aren't that bad either.  They all have really made downtown a fun place to go, starting in the early 90s when the Pyramid was built, then ATP, and finally Fedex Forum(which I think is the best Arena in the nation).  I think the Pyramid is a great landmark and the Tigers should've kept it because they promised they would stay in the Pyramid forever!  ATP is probably the best AAA ballpark in the nation(especially because its feild meets MLB standards), and also it makes for great arial shots of Memphis.  GO GRIZZ!  GO REDBIRDS!  GO U OF M!

OK the choices on the poll are woefully incomplete.   The Redbirds are included, who are lucky to get 3,000 to 4,000 on some games, and not he Vols, who normally draw over 100,000?  If you are not including college teams, the topic heading  should then be edited to read "favorite professional sports team in Tennessee".  Tennessee is still overall a college state and the favorite team objectively by far is the Tennnessee Vols.  Obviously some people here don't like them but that's a fact.  The Titans are second in popularity statewide and 1st in Nashville metro.

My favorite team is the Vols of course, and I chose "other".  Since I drive from Memphis to Knoxville for most of the games (but 4 home games in a row was a little tough for me, with the U of M game coming up next Sat.).

The only reason, and it's the ONLY reason, they are so popular in Nashville is becuase they came into town winning.  Now that they suck, they aren't exactly the favorites around here (thankfully).  It's as easy (and cheap) as 1-2-3 to get tickets THE DAY OF THE GAME down at LP Field.  Go Preds and screw the crybabies at the oversized soccer stadium across the river!!!!!!

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!  LOL!!!

But the choices are based on pro teams.

I'm not a Vols fan, but I admire your dedication for real!  You are a true college football fan.

Lexy, just for the record, there are some of us who love both. I LOOOOOVE the Preds, but since the Titans are my NFL team I still support them in their time of need. I am a sports fan! There will always be fair-weather fans in every sport, but notice that LP field still sells out every game. True, it might not have capacity attendance, but it is still an official sell out. Just like the true Preds fans stuck through the rough years, the same will happen for the Titans. I know you loathe the Titans, but don't hate on them just cause they suck! (Do what I do and hate on everyone who talks sh*t about hockey for no reason!)

Mandrws, MSG will not jump into your top ten. It is old, dark, and not pro level at all.

During the football season, its all about the Titans and during basketball season, its a tie between the Grizz and Tigers. For me, baseball is only fun when I play it but I have a ton of respect for the Redbirds organization. Is anyone else excited about the 07'-08' season for the Grizz?

The Grizzlies are going to be a lot better than people realize this year. I hope the support comes out this year.

Once again the original post was horrible (only including pro and minor league pro teams) and we need a more representaive sample.  NO WAY that the Grizzlies are the most popular team in TN, they aren't even the most in Memphis ,as the Tigers average a lot more fans than them.

The most popular teams in TN

1- Vols
2- Titans
No other teams come close.
