From what I heard the Barbarito's is just opening a second location.  The owner was on the radio a couple of weeks ago and that's what I understood him to say.  He also mentioned opening a third location soon.  I could be wrong though.

They have a location in Augusta Exchange plus the one in Daniel Village.  But from what I heard (which is not reliable in the least bit) Barbarito's lease at DV ends next month and the guy didn't want to renew the lease because it's too expensive (plus someone mentioned safety concerns because DV has apparently been the setting of a couple of robberies over the last couple of months).

PJA, did you hear the owner when was on the Austin Rhodes show?  (I don't agree with Austin Rhodes on most issues, but I can't help but listen to the guy's show.)

Pillsbury,   there were a few empty tables but a pretty good crowd there Sunday night.   I really enjoyed it.
Havent heard anything about Barberitos moving either.

I also here The Colesium will re-open in a week or two as a new Gay Club but I cannot remember what they said the name of it was....started with a "S".

I think its Spectrum, but I might be wrong...  New owner same location.  I was hoping it'd be open already, but alas, I had to go to Argos when I was in town this weekend...

Yes, I heard him on Austin Rhodes but I can't remember exactly what he said.  I was just under the impression that the Evans location was  a totally new location.  I could be wrong though.

Went to Wing Stop over the weekend at Daniel Village.    Sign on the door of Barbaritos stated that the restaurant was closed and that they'd moved to Evans.    Not the guy cares apprently, but I, for one, will never eat at his store in Evans.

This may be bad to say...but I hope he loses business.

The Daniel Village location was a central location and I refuse to drive all the way to Evans just to eat at his restaurant.  He had already lost points with me when he was on the Austin Rhodes show a couple of weeks ago and this just sealed the deal.

Barberitos was definately not a destination restaurant anyway so let it go to Evans.  Maybe something a little less "fast-food" will replace it in Daniel Village.

I'm with you on that PJA.

I do wonder what kind of restaurant will open in its place.

Here's an interesting article about Willie's Soul Food, a restaurant in South Augusta.  I see the restaurant all the time but after reading the article I think I am going to go try it next week.

The Doughboy doesn't get out enough anymore.   Cafe de Teau has closed until further notice.  Because of lack of business you may ask?  Of course not!!    No, in Augusta it's not considered cool to pay taxes so then the government shuts you down.  Don de Teau is taking the easy way out and offering the place up for sale.  Way to treat the town that supported you all those years especially after your restaurant infected a whole group of Hill socialites with LSD a few years ago and had them hallucinating after eating your overpriced filet mignon.  A bit late but better than never:  Story Here

New cafe opened on Reynold's Street inside that old coffee house that was rennovated from a gas station right around 10th Street or so (I think).  Anyway, they specialize in creperie, which, I'll be honest, I've never eaten.  But man they look good.  Anyway, here's the link:   Creperie

I don't want to eat there, but it sounds good (I love hamburgers).  Has anyone eaten at Sticky Fingers yet?

I love Sticky fingers.  They have excellent ribs and wings.   As far as other barbecue like pork, I only eat that kind of barbecue in the country because chain restaurants usually don't do it right.
