Nice to see a Starbucks opening at Cherrydale.  Port City needs to open in that area as well.

I agree, maybe it will keep RT from moving to Colorado Springs.

I know there has been some discussion of opening a Fleming's Steakhouse at The Point.

That would be a great addition to the local market and a first for the state of SC!

The large Starbucks sign has now vanished.  Nice little teaser by them to put it out there and then take it away.    Don't mess with caffeine addicts!

A real estate friend said that Crosland is wanting to do a Greenridge-type development in Simpsonville.  I've read they were wanting to do another center in the area but that was the first time I've heard Simpsonville mentioned.  That would be great if it was to really happen.  :whistling:

Their are two large adjacent parcels at West Georgia Rd. and 385 controlled by developers.  I wonder if this could be the site.

Would any one of them be on the northeast corner?  I know Ingle's has a vacant property there since they relocated their Simpsonville store nearly 17 years ago.

With the new interchange and the widening of I-385, I would be inclined to say this is a probable location for such a retail development.  There are numerous new residential projects being put up all around there, so it would be a nice addition.

I know of a recent rumor about two call centers from Charlotte interested in moving to downtown Greenville.  This was a few months ago, but it may still be in the works.  If both happen, it will breathe new life into the office market, which has seen many companies simply relocate locally, rather than build anew here.

If only I could talk OGRE (My company's Global Real Estate and Facilities Management Organization) into opening an office, call center, or support center here.  Alas, I am but one voice among 45,000.

That'd be awesome! If we hear something about this happening then I think we'd see cranes going up the next day. We need this to help our towers get built!

Someone told me that BMW was considering moving a division from New Jersey to Greenville.  He said it was there legal division.  Has anyone else heard this?
Yes. There was mention of that last year, but it was confirmed by BMW that they would stay in NJ.

I've been hearing this same exact thing for a couple of months.  Also hearing that a theater chain (Rave) is looking at this development.

There is a rumor that GHS will be getting its own helicopter with a totally new graphic design.  Since all of the news and medical choppers are maintained at the Donaldson Center MedTrans location, it should be connected in some way to that organization.

I'm curious as to what is going to happen at the old Winn-Dixie distribution center now that it looks to be officially closed. I've heard that a Greenridge style development is in the works, but nothing has been said as of yet.

I really hope this comes to pass!  I have been hoping for something like this to jumpstart the Wade Hampton area.   There are many abandoned buildings left from the 60's & 70's that need to be done away with.  Some examples: the old Long John Silvers, the dead steakhouse building, the old Ingle's market, Parker music building,  old cinema building,  Hess gas station.   Oh how I wish I had the money....
