I stumbled upon van der lende lofts at 131 S. Division today.  This place looks nice inside (a little rough on the exterior):

Anyone know anything about the City's plans to put a parking structure of some sort on the two surface lots between Division and Commerce?  I believe the lot that fronts on Division is 45 Division and the lot that fronts on Commerce is between 38 Commerce and 62 Commerce.  The city does not appear to own either lot.

John Denver brought up the same thing on this thread:

That would be these parcels:

I wonder if this means they are going to abandon their plans for the ramp on Ionia?  I had also heard rumors that a residential structure of some sort was going in that area around Commerce, but that it was a "shot in the dark" type thing.

There's a rendering of the new Heartside ramp going in at Commerce and Cherry next to Cooley Law School in the GRBJ, and it looks VERY nice!  Looks like it might have ground floor retail.

I don't think that looks like ground floor retail.

The ramp looks pretty good. It's nice to see the worked on a good design and it doesn't look like an average ramp.

Man GRDad, I still don't know how you get the scoop on everything before anyone else.  :shades:

Yes, I'm no super-genious.  Actually, I went to Riverbank Books this time supportin the home team  :D   I have the City Commission and Planning Commission sites on my "Bookmarks"; Their usually out 3 to 4 days before the meetings.  However, being mod here also has its perks, like receiving special packages from "birdies"

Looking at it again, I think you're right.  It is probably just the entrance to the elevator foyer  :(

They said the footprint was too small to support retail on the bottom floor.

I bet they could squeeze in a convenience store, which also would be nice to have in that block.  Just 1000 sf or something.  I hate that Elliot’s is the only place like that downtown.

Thanks GRDad.  Grainy, but good!

Will that be precast, or structural steel (post tensioning cables, etc.)???
