What is your definition of that? Sophistication, number of movies filmed in the area, number of upscale developments?

I would assume films because Hollywood CA is not upscale: Beverly Hills is where all the movie stars live. That said I don't know about the film scenes in any of these cities. Atlanta has a rather large stake in the national media though.

On just about any level, I think Miami compares better than any other city on the list; it gets my vote.

I don't understand these polls. "What's the New York of the South" "What's the Chicago of the South" "What's the Hollywood of the South" "What's the king and queen of the South"

Next we'll see "What's the Asmara, Eritrea of the South" or "What city is the fish and which is the chips of the South."  They don't make sense!

MIAMI of course. Now please end this thread. Can the south stand on its feet for once and allow someone to be like us. Why do we tend to feel so inferior in relation to all of the other regions of America.

North Carolina was (and maybe still is) third in most movies produced after California and New York.  NC's film industry is predominantly based in the Wilmington area.
