You guys seem to have forgotten about a key component in Gary Player's major announcement over a year ago. Does the 'Gary Player Invitational' not mean anything to this area? All indications point to its being much larger than the BMW Charity Pro-Am. He promised to bring this tournament to Greenville once he has settled in.

Ah yes, but a very large event nonetheless. I believe the rumors regarding the Senior PGA Championship are spot on for the future as well.
The GPI would be much larger than the BMW, regardless of whether or not it is an official PGA event.

Why do you think rumors for a Senior PGA Championship are spot on? What do you know?

The third course for the 2008 BMW Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament will be Bright’s Creek Golf Club in Mill Spring, North Carolina (near Lake Adger).

The BMW Pro Am is coming up this next week. No red carpet walk this year as they want to focus the energy of the event at the course. A long list of celebs this year. I'm sure you will see many of them out and about in restaurants, so get your autograph books ready.

Looks like the Pro-Am this year raised over 900,000 for various charities.
Article from GV News also gives the figures for how much money the event has pumped into the Upstate economy over the years.

That is one likable worth seeing. Sadly his reservations at Hotel California did not work out with the other four, but he still can put on a show.
