In the Boston Courant, it said that the deck over the Mass Pike would take nearly 2.5 years to build, so it will be a while before we see much verticle promise....still, I'll be excited to have it capped.

I read the same article. I guess there are a lot of utilities that will need to be moved, and since it will require the closing of parts of the turnpike, they won't be able to work on it 8 hours a day as with most construction projects. Further, this project is supposed to include ground water replenishment features which I am sure are also adding to the length of time needed for this. That's just my understanding though..

Was walking home from a bar last night after watching the Sox game in Boston, and went past the Columbus Center construction site. Attached to the fencing was this reassuring sign:

At least, I felt reassured (at 2am after a few drinks, it doesn't take much).
