This of course was anticipated for 2005, however recent census estimates now put the KC metro at over 2 million people.

According to the Sasaski Report and MARC studies, the city of KC had/will hit 450,000 soon around 2005.
The announcement of the city population growth came from MARC in 2005. They stated that KCMO had gained over 8,000 people since 2000.
Downtown had gained over 2,000 people with over 1,600 units being completed between 2000 and early 2005. The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) also says the city should gain about 15,000 more people by 2010 for a population of around 464,000.
They also estimate by 2010, about 1,300 to 2,500 more units will be added to Downtown.

Also estimated was that over 6,000 jobs will be added to DT in the next 4 years. (However, IRS will already add 6,000 new jobs to DT, so that number isn't including the new IRS HQ)
