Anyone want to be awesome and mark the "biggest" projects on a map?  I have become really confused with multitude of medium projects that have recently been proposed, about to be constructed, or are being constructed.  I think the apartment buildings in Midtown/West End, the Gulch, and other areas that have been proposed are the ones giving me the most problems.  It would be nice if someone could just mark them on a map with color and labels.  I would do it, but I am overwhelmed with school, :(.

All of this construction is basicly inside the urban core which means is inside the Interstate 440 loop. I forgot to include Gale the Park development adn a few others.

There are a few more projects yet to be announced that I am not at liberty to discuss or dont know many details about yet.

Sorry to keep the editing process ongoing, but my Word program did not copy the way it was suppose too. The other major edit was to add the proposed Federal Courthose.

I probably left a few out, but  I did this on the fly in about 45 minutes and got rushed.

I may be off a little on the Belmont projects because I have not really paid real close attention the the exact wheres of each project.

:good: Wow!  Thanks Ron!  Wasn't expecting something so quick!  This helps a lot and I think will help me and others keep track of all these new developments.

Some of my "new" favorites are the East Bank proposal, OneC1ty campus, and the huge Crosland acreage.  Got to get the thermal site developed into something whether it is a park or amphitheater or whatever.

Stellar work!  It's another exciting time in Nashville. Hopefully most of these will come to fruition, especially the skyscrapers!

Found some details about the potential expansion of NCC in a 2008 press release:

brief excerpt:

"As part of this acquisition Parmenter is acquiring contiguous land. “Our business
plan calls for the construction of a 570 car parking garage. Further, we believe there very
well may be demand for a mixed use office, retail & restaurant project. This new project
would arguably provide the best views of the State Capitol and plaza in the CBD,” said
John Davidson, Southwest Regional Director of Parmenter Realty Partners."

Ron,

Looks to me like the 'One City Project' is on the Parks property site on your aerial and I believe it's actually across the rail road tracks on the Charlotte side.

Yes, that was a big deal at the time (then-Mayor Bredesen was trying to land it for downtown)... BUT... I never knew there was a rendering for it (and neither the Tennessean nor the Nashville Business Journal featured any, to my recollection). I never thought it got past the proposal stage. Thanks for finding that, I always wondered what it was going to look like !

Yes... I was working at Columbia-HCA (as it was known then) when they killed this project.  It was at the height of the HillaryCare debates, and it suddenly became very unpopular for healthcare organizations (least of all, hospital companies... gasp!) to make a profit.  So corporate healthcare companies pulled back on both office development and advertising.  Do you remember that HCA hospitals were rebadged as TriStar?  That was the beginning of a trend that still exists, as healthcare companies are now very happy to stay in the background, with not showy buildings (on the outside anyway) and splashy advertising.  Ironically, it was the beginning of the big building boom in the hospitals themselves.  As that facebook link demonstrates, nowadays they are not seeking high profile buildings... that's frowned upon. LOL

That would have been quite a tower that would be sitting vacant by now.
