Photos in the "Related" box show protesters in the city's largest and most beautiful (albeit dry as usual) fountain at Kanawa Plaza tending to their "housekeeping."

I don't know how to post both of them in the same entry, so first is Rex Springston's story in today's Richmond Times Dispatch:

The next posting (below) will be from Norfolk.

It will be held in the auditorium of Thomas Jefferson High School at 4100 West Grace Street. Parking is available in lots adjacent to the school and on neighboring streets.
It is a Public Event and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you decide to make an evining of it, here are a couple of nearby dining suggestions:
THE PHOENICIAN (Lebanese specialties, atmospheric setting) -- 4401 West Broad Street, 804/359-5590.
or:
STELLA's (Greek) - 1012 Lafayette Street (between Monument and Patterson Avenues) -- Reservations strongly suggested: 804/358-2011.

OK..... well I guess I'm happy and proud about his statement for "big plans" for the riverfront and Shockoe, but I'm somewhat more than dismayed at the industrial park idea..... as long as it's away from downtown and the interstates (where people can drive by and see them and judge the city on it

BREAK POINT MEDIA GROUP owns Downtown Short Pump, the Far West End's news and development website, but now, they are also making a new website, MIDLOTHIAN RVA!!
It will serve as a sister site to DTSP, and is hiring writers. Sadly, I can't tackle development news for Chesterfield, because I live in Glen Allen

Here are pictures of Capital and State police forcibly removing (and arresting) people who were vociferably objecting to their rights being trampled.

Yeah... while I was cruising around downtown this afternoon to the Coliseum to the Courtside Richmond thing, I saw a huge line of protesters, who from what one would think were protesting the abortion case.... there were probably like 100 or 200 people marching through the streets of downtown.... on another note, Richmond seemed quite alive today, as not only the protesters, but also just people out and about on VCU's campus, and of course that Courtside Richmond and the general area around the Coliseum was teeming with people for the tournament games in the afternoon. Funny thing actually, while I was there (at Courtside Richmond) I saw like 20 or 25 people with signs that were begging tickets for VCU's semifinal game.... I felt kinda bad... see this is why we need a new coliseum! More seating capacity! I'm pretty sure We can use this as another reason to replace the Coliseum...

If anyone thinks the Richmond Times Dispatch editorial policy and its slant on political news coverage isn't conservative enough, just you wait.

The RTD isn't conservative at all! Perhaps if the RTD is sold to this "right winger," real, objective news will actually be printed in the RTD for a change.
