Current and recently completed projects in and around Court Square represent more than $55.3 million total investment.
Increased pedestrian activity as a result of new businesses, street animation initiatives, and public improvements will continue to contribute to the youthful glow of eternal Court Square.

Ive stayed at a Hotel Indigo in Atlanta down near the Fox. The rooms were a bit small, but perhaps that was just that building. It's a very nice business class hotel, and a good addition to the Memphis hotel market and downtown in general. It's a very summery decor in all of the hotels, and the interior of the Indigo just built in Nashville incorporated acoustic guitar wallpaper, a very artsy full wall print of one, etc in the rooms. Id like to see Memphis' blues heritage or riverboats, etc. incorporated into the interior in the same vein.

I suspect it's a national problem.
On the other hand, I've read that apartments are hard to come by downtown, so it might be a good thing in the long run, particularly with the law school going in down the street.

Nope. It's still a vacant lot as of this posting.
I wouldn't expect some of these planned projects in downtown to happen until the economy turns around.
So far, the only high-rise addition to downtown is the still-unfinished(?) Horizon apartment tower on Riverside Drive.
