Thanks Burt. Yeah, I realized my error after the post but had forgotten to update/correct. Trains are indeed a lot of fun for those not in a great rush, and there's much to see and scores of interesting Americans to meet during the ride. Unfortunately, it's very expensive when you add a sleeper (awfully tiny) but all the meals are free. It's difficult finding a seat in the observation car while passing through West Virgina and then Colorado, Utah and the Sierra Nevada.
