I'd forgotten all about this thread. Greenville looks so clean and charming.

And Johnson City doesn't look too shabby either. It definitely looks quaint, and like it probably has quite a bit of southern charm itself.

Great photos of Shreveport SBCmetroguy!  I remember my last time through Shreveport (several years back) thinking how urban the downtown felt.  There was an old department store building (closed) but still with the name on it...Selbers?  Felt very "big city".  Lots of great architecture.

What else can ya say, except Self Made Man is absolutely stunning---a fine example of world-class art if I've ever seen one.

I also consider it classic, Charlotteman.

Yeah, Selber's. Being only 26 I don't remember the place but I've read and heard a lot about that store, Palais Royale, Rubenstein's, and other local department stores. They were the huge local department stores that were really popular in the 60s and before. At one point there was even a 5-story Sears down there. The largest Sears store we have right now is a 3-story location at Mall St. Vincent.

Oh, and thanks for the compliments on my fair city! :) That always brings a smile to my face.

Hmmm what do I think...

Not bad at all!

I like Atlanta's overall look and I love that capitol. Never seen that particular capitol before, but it's very nice. I've never been to Atlanta, though I enjoy it in photos. It's on my list, dangit, but my list is long. :D
