Michelin said today it will hire 500 people and invest $750 million in Anderson and Lexington counties to meet growing demand for the massive tires used on earth-moving equipment. Michelin would not comment on how the jobs or investment will be divided between the locations.
Hiring will begin immediately for both locations. Training will be at the Lexington facilities.

Ross Stores Inc. is planning to bring 600 jobs to York County with a new distribution and warehouse facility. Officials said Wednesday the company planned to build a 1 million square-foot facility to use as a distribution center for retail stores in 30 states. Over five years, the company says the project will generate about 600 new jobs.
