Hilo's a small town, just over 40,000 people live in it, with a tiny metro of about 80-90,000 if you include the surrounding communities. It is a very rainy & tropical place, Hilo recieves over 120 inches of rain a year.
What makes Hilo so cool in a way is that it is reminiscent of the old Hawaii, not much has changed there over the decades and there are no endless amounts of condo's like in Honolulu, just a few scattered here and there.
The island that it is located on is extremely diverse from snow capped mountains to volcanoes to deserts to black, white, green, grey sand beaches to rain forests to steep cliffs, waterfalls to cowboys and wild donkeys its got it. The people are very friendly and its very laid back, there are also many illegal immigrants that tend to live deep in the forests usually Mexicans or Central & South Americans to Jamaicans who grow weed to Colombians growing Cocoa plants, but luckily operation green harvest takes care of these illegal operations.
Anyway, enjoy the pics???..
