NEW YORK (AP) -- Two NYC Transit supervisors were found shot to death in a trailer at a Coney Island rail yard this morning.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says police are questioning a man about the murders.
A police source who requested anonymity said investigators were probing whether the men were shot by a disgruntled co-worker. The yard is heavily secured because of vandalism in the past.
A security guard found the men at about 7:40 a-m, lying face down in a corner of the trailer. The pair worked as cleaning supervisors. They were supposed to end their shift about 40 minutes before their bodies were discovered.
N-Y-C Transit President Lawrence Reuter says police interviewed about 50 co-workers from the overnight shift. He says transit chaplains and grief counselors are on the scene offering assistance to those workers.
The victims were wearing their blue N-Y-C Transit uniforms, along with hooded sweatshirts and gloves. One was still wearing an orange work vest over his clothes.
The trailer is used as a break room for workers in Coney Island. When the bodies were found, a radio was playing and a newspaper was lying on a table.
The two were last seen at 4:20 a-m by a transit supervisor.
