Unless there's a flurry of activity at GTECH, I don't think it will be occupied by the end of this month.

I searched Google and came across this Providence Journal article about Providence Place mall from April 17, 2005 which states that the GTECH building will be completed by July 2007. Providence Journal - April 17, 2005

The interiors of Fidelity's portion of the building look to be pretty much in move-in condition.  Walk by at night when the lights are on and you'll see cubicles, desks, and everything.

You can also see sections of wall painted blue that add to the square blocks of color between floors.

The Melting Pot- is that going where Fidelity was or are we losing a restaurant?

I'd recommend separating things out like restaurant openings from the projects list and put them in a separate "business openings" list or something like that.  It's making the projects list a bit tough to follow and, well, perhaps cheapens it a bit (equating, say, a lunch place opening with a 500 foot tower...).

when the casino doesn't pass, it will just have to be removed, so might as well wait on that.

are there any current major developments for brown (like the new life sciences building) or just a lot of small stuff?

Brown's planning to building hundreds of thousands of square feet over the next decade or so. Some will be adjacant to the Sydney Frank Science Bldg where the gas station used to be. There's also a preliminary plan for a new performing arts center. And they are definitely eyeing the 195 land.

At the same time, they are trying to divest themselves of a lot of the small scale formerly residential properties on College Hill by selling them to Brown community homebuyers at reasonable prices.

the 'keeper' of this list chose not to include the casino for several reasons - one of which being without the November vote, it doesn't really exist!

Add new athletic buildings to the list built on the current surface parking as well.

I have no idea what the timeframe of all of this is, though...

Save for the new Biomed Building, I can't say any of Brown's recent architecture has blown me away.  Some other Ivys (Yale being a great example) have finally done some really nice, new architecture of late, as has (arguably) MIT.

It's time for Brown to step it up a notch...
