The NWA Business Journal reports that a new 65,000 sq. ft. building named the Enterprise Center is beginning construction here. It will be a multi-tenant space and the interior can be customized to what the tenants needs are. The core and shell or the building are expected to be completed by January 2010 and costs will depend on how the interior is improved based on tenant needs.
Cool, thanks for the info.  Good to hear something new happening in this area.  It's been a while since I've taken a look over there.  Maybe I need to stop by sometime, just to see what it looks like now.

You know, maybe Little Rock should just look up here for their input. I am really surprised that it has taken LR this long to start planning on a Research & Tech Park.

Just to give a bit more info.  The Enterprise Center will be a $16 Mil addition to the park.  It will have 'wet' laboratories that have special water and ventilation systems.  Right now local researchers are having to go to Memphis or St Louis for certain projects because our area lacks this type of facilities.  Although I'll also note we're not the only location in the state working on these facilities.  Apparently Little Rock and Jonesboro is working on their own similar type of facilities as well.

Just curious is the one in Little Rock, the North Shore development I've heard a bit about?

Nope, the one that they are thinking about would be between 12th street and I630 across from War Memorial, or somewhere close by.
It still is not finalized. They are hoping that the first building will be finished sometime in the second quarter of 2013.

Here's a photo of the newly constructed Enterprise Center- looks like it is ready to lease space except for some street work.

It's not beautiful, but I didn't expect it to be. The entrance is interesting. I wonder if all that glass is solar tinted for efficiency or not- you'd think the ARTP would want to be on the forefront of sustainable technologies in their buildings.

Thanks for the pic.  I think it's an interesting design and fits in with one of the other buildings in the area.  That and I'd also be shocked if the glass wasn't good treated glass being used.

Oh yeah- this building fits right in. It looks better than the early buildings also. The park is becoming a very attractive place for business. It would be great to see it expand out over that whole area of town someday.

Agreed. I'd love a couple larger lab/office buildings (6-10 stories) in the center to anchor it as it grows in the long term, but currently they're doing a good job of having it look like a unified complex (that has been getting better looking over time). Heck, I'd even love to have a couple mid sized buildings (4 ish stories) in there. I was in St. Louis this weekend and saw a couple I thought would fit right in the ARTP:
Clear Channel's building in St. Louis: Clear Channel Street View
(It's now complete wavy glass neighbor is also a very nice building)
the Cortex building just off of WashU's campus in St. Louis: Cortex Building street view

I agree, that would fit in very well over there.
