Alabaster plans on rezoning Shelby County 17 due to it being the next high growth area

The rezoning is part of the city master plan for the area. It wants to have the road to connect to high density projects to the existing schools such Creek View Elementary.

Alabaster growth has its residents calling `time out' from The Birmingham News
Residents of Alabaster wants the city to put some control measure on all the out of control growth occuring with the city. They want the schools and water capacity to catch up with the current size of the city.

What was the percentage change in estimated population between the 2004 and 05' estimates?
