Stay tuned. We have finished several new renderings. We will be discussing the public release tomorrow.

I've been following this project's progression for a while. I have to admit, all these delays are a definite red flag. I sell multi-families and condos in Brooklyn, NY, and hear developers giving the same scoop to me on buildings that are delayed! It's frustrating I know and there are a lot of "what-ifs".
Too bad this thing couldn't already be under construction. The hot real estate market has fizzled out now...maybe if the developers can hang in there another year or so, it'll come around. But the 'negative' flip side to that is that the current buyers in contract will start to drop off!
I just want Memphis to build this thing! They need a new highrise that is the tallest. :)

I'm just an impatient fan of the building!! lol

You know he did say they would be discussing it tomorrow, not updating the website.

Sorry about the delay. Things are progressing, but not ready for release as we need to update a lot of marketing materials. It is coming - these things just take time - especially when there are major adjustments to portions of the design - there is a major domino effect on everything.

Well.. hmmm *sigh I suppose everyone saw this coming.  But I am extremely disappointed.  One Beale as we knew is not gonna happen.  Matter of fact as much
as I enjoy reading their "phase" plan, neither will it.  Can't blame them, this is not the economy to even try that grand of a buiding.  And it is very easy for those
of us who have no money sunk into it to whin.  I suppose we can turn our attention to something new... maybe what we already have!!!! Go GRIZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is in response to the commercial appeal article today Sept 28th 2008.

Just when I thought we would have something on our counterpart about 200 miles east of here, it went down the tubes.  Oh well, maybe some other entrepreneur will bring another grand plan into the spot light.

^In a few years the economy will improve the market for new developments and high-rises will take off again and a new ambitious project will materialize. However, for now I have to think that the development and re-development of properties for ambitious projects -high-rise or low- will be rather slow until the nation gets its financial house in order and economy headed back in the right direction. This is a fact that will not only be true for Memphis, but for most all other cities as well.

I just heard from a friend in Memphis that the plans for redeveloping Graceland are still on schedule despite the economic worries. Graceland's about to build a $250 million world class museum center next to the mansion that will rival the Rock HOF in Cleveland and be all about Elvis!

I think your friend is right, I don't see or know of any reasons why that project will be delayed. The redevelopment of Graceland and surrouding properties should have long-term re-development benefits that area of the city.

Where can we find more information on this project? Has anyone seen any images of this proposal?

With the plans totally changing now, if they are not going to build a high rise, and by that I mean 500 ft. or taller, they should not build anything on this spot of land and sell it back to the city for someone else who will actually not drag their feet and let a lesser project like "the horizon" get done first......This is sad, it would have been a nice addition for Memphis.

I agree. Thats a good piece of land for a high-rise, not low-rise development.

When is the public going to get some real hard facts for the new One Beale plan. A timeline would be nice.
