The Coliseum Authority has voted to rename the Civic Center to the James Brown Arena.  This was done to improve public image as well as draw more acts to Augusta.  I think it's a great idea.

I agree, it's a great idea and good way to pay tribute to James Brown.   Who knows, maybe he'll start having his birthday party there again.

This article discusses the lack of sold out shows for the center and the Bell Auditorium.  One interesting idea the article mentions is hiring someone to promote the buildings and the events held there.  That's a great idea one that I'm shocked isn't already in place.

The James Brown Arena names it's general manager.  He has good credentials in the music industry so hopefully he can bring in the acts needed at the center.
