While not in the city, surely close enough (and 'attractive' enough) for out-of-state visitors to feed into the State-wide economy. Visitors could stay here a do day trips to Newport, Providence, etc.
I have long been yearing for a 'destination' type attraction to add to the array of things to do IN RI to bolster our already strong tourism industry. This could be what I see as a major missing piece of the portfolio we offer to tourists. The proposed Utopia and the existing casinos sure help, but they're in CT - we need something here to keep the dollars in RI. This will surely help the airport as well, as I'm sure a small amount of people will come here to go to this new venue (among other things).
This also makes me feel better about voting down the casino (next door to this) until a better/fairer (is that a word?) 'deal' can be put forth top the residents of RI.
I'd put this right next to Dynamo as the most important true 'touristy' thing to see/do in RI in terms of new venues...
AWESOME NEWS!!!
