That's the spire of St. James Episcopal Church in the far distance about a block east of Stuart Circle and the beginning of Monument Avenue.

I'll bet a quarter it is The Martin Agency in the plaza of Shockoe Slip.

By the photo-artist named Clutchrobot.
This is the corner of the iconic Richmond Dairy Building in Jackson Ward. The entire complex extending from Jefferson to Madison on West Marshall Street is now residential.

PS: There's another Milk Bottle turret on the Jefferson Street side of the building.

Actually, that photo is pretty clear to me! I can clearly point out every skyscraper (and large buildings) in that picture. But then again, it's probably because my geeky self spends much time studying pictures of our skyline and driving through the city

That's a rather neat picture more so than hazy. Just flew into Norfolk the other night from the midwest and easily spotted downtown Richmond in the dark as we were decending from the pattern of the bridges that cross the James

I've admired your work for awhile now. I think your pictures are great and they've helped me visit cities that I've never been to. Your commentaries and appreciation of Richmond's historic fabric are very much appreciated. Please take more pictures.

What does all of this mean - what's the big deal? Sorry, I don't know anything about Foursquare.

Eric: I'm not exactly sure, either, of the significance of Foursquare but this story may clear it up somewhat.
Incidentally, if you go through all the pictures, a lot of them seem to be of cell-phone quality. In other words, not very good.

Your passion for cities is very evident in your art (work). I actually live in California but have visited Richmond often. I love it as well. I think it is very underrated. I understand your feeling lonely in your work but Burt and I can't be the only people appreciating what you do. Please don't stop.

Note the lakes in Byrd Park. It's easy to see that Swan Lake (the one with the island) is the largest of the three. From left to right they are Fountain Lake, Swan Lake and Shields Lake.
